Carjacking At Publix On Chapel Hill

Officers were, shortly before 8pm, looking for two people who had fled from a vehicle as a result of a carjacking from the Publix on Chapel Hill.  Two people carjacked someone at gunpoint.  Also mentioned during this was damage to vehicles in the parking lot of Kroger on Chapel Hill, but that this was not related to the carjacking.  They're looking for two suspects around Stewart Mill Road and Reynolds Road.  Central Church Road is mentioned.  Long Lake Road has also been mentioned.  One person, as of 8:06pm, had been apprehended.  One person is still at large.  They keep talking about a lake and that a suspect might be swimming across the lake.  An officer is trying to find one officer, and the dispatcher is trying to find out where officers are.



8:08pm Dog on ground searching for second suspect.  Officer instructs other officers to get back in their cars.
8:11pm Apparently there was a wreck or a mechanical breakdown—an officer is asking if the person has money for a tow truck.  It’s an abandoned vehicle and is blocking traffic.
8:13pm Suspect still at large is a minor.
8:16pm Accident at Fairburn Rd & I-20.
8:17pm Something about a box officers are looking for.
8:17pm Accident has possible injuries.
8:18pm Somebody ran from the hospital.  Concern for welfare.
8:19pm Dispatcher asked an officer in the mall if officer was trying to force people to leave mall.  Officer replies that officer was not.
8:26pm Officers at a woodline searching for suspect.
8:27pm Second suspect possibly apprehended or either the person that ran from the hospital.  This is followed by silence.
8:30pm Apparently they’re still looking for the second suspect.
8:48pm Still looking for second suspect.
